Mark your calendars! A great evening of music is coming your way September 26, and all for a great cause. This year marks my 4th Annual ArtsCan Circle Benefit Concert. ArtsCan Circle is a registered charity dedicated to linking creative artists with Indigenous at-risk youth. To achieve this goal they send teams of musicians to isolated communities in Canada’s North to lead workshops in creative arts.
The concert on September 26 will be great music and great fun. The theme is “songs of peace ‘n protest: your favourites from the 60s and 70s”. We’ve got some great artists lined up including: Marion Drexler, Glenn Marais, John Lemme, Jamie Miller, and D’Arcy Wickham. Jim Corrigan will again be emceeing and Brian O’Sullivan will be co-ordinating sound.
These outstanding musicians will be playing some oustanding tunes, including songs by Bob Dylan, Melanie, The Band, Robbie Roberston, Neil Young … you get the idea.
The fun takes place at Stouffville’s Parkview Village (off of 9th line, just south of Main St), starting at 8:00pm. Tickets are $10 at the door. Again this year Long & McQuade Markham have donated a guitar which we’ll be raffling off. Velvet Sunrise will be serving up fresh coffee and more.
Look for Hannelore Volpe’s article in the September edition of the Stouffville Free Press to learn more about this event.
A special thanks to Whittamore’s Farm for their generous support, four years running now.
Hope to see you there!
